Olympic Knitting Projects due to the shop by 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 4, 2010. Send to info@amazing-threads.com.

We have lots of new yarns at the shop with more arriving weekly. I am especially happy with the several new linen blends this season. Last week I sung the praises for Lenpur Linen based on its hand and sheen. This week we stocked Nashua Creative Focus Linen which boasts 220 yards for $10.50. This great yarn is 50% linen & 50% cotton which makes it great to knit and easy to wear. Garments knit in linen will become your favorites as they soften with wear and washing.

Also new to the shop this season is Kertzer's beautifully crafted, 100% organic cotton. Kertzer's "Down To Earth Cotton" is a terrific choice for all your DK/sport-weight projects. You can wrap your precious wee ones in fiber that's been certified as grown & processed in environmentally friendly ways. And just think of all the lacy, lightweight items you can knit and crochet for yourself too. From open-weave shawls to baby booties, machine washable "Down To Earth Cotton" is the natural option for yourself, for babies & children and for anyone with sensitive skin. Made in Italy of 100% environmentally friendly dyed organic cotton. Great on the pocketbook, TOO.

Great new book for those of you who never knit a pattern as written: Knitwear Design Workshop. This is a great "how to" for designing your own knitwear, a must own book. Learn to design knitwear with a perfect individual fit!

Freebies & Resources

For those of you who love Marianne Isager's yarns, we have three new patterns available free with the purchase of the Isager yarn to knit the project. We carry almost all of the Isager yarns, including Tvinni. Stop in to see the Barclay Scarf pattern which is a simple, yet fun knit.

Check out this quick to knit vest, knit in a bee stitch. Great for spring and summer. I would suggest using the Rowan All Season Cotton. Enjoy this twist on the typical seed stitch pattern.

Got any leftover sock yarn? Stitch a pair of shoe laces for your favorite pair of boots or for those wonderful kids or grandchildren to think of you as they tie their tennis shoes at school.
