What's New: 4.28.10

There is so much happening at the shop in the next few weeks that I don't know where to begin. We have dates for our annual shop hop, great Mother's Day gift ideas and our annual Fishing Opener Stitch In. Check out the details below.

Mother's Day is just around the corner. And this day is a way to say thank you to your mom, grandma, special aunt or woman in your life that needs to know they are appreciated. Ladies let your gift givers know that we have great gift ideas, as well as gift cards so that they get you what you want and enjoy. You can complete your "WISH LIST" at the shop and we will keep it in our "little black box." All the special people in your life can stop in and we will help them find you the perfect gift.

A couple of great gifts most "mom's" would love include these shop treasures that are sure to please any knitter: Namaste bags, Knit Kits, KnowKnit Bags (new stock next week), Needle Cases, Interchangeable needle sets (Addi Turbo, Bamboo, or Rosewood), needle cases from Lantern Moon or Della Q.

Fourth Annual Yarn Shop Hop is set for May 21, 22, & 23.

We have lots of new great samples and project ideas at the shop this week. It's so much fun when the staff and our customers get excited about a new pattern or project. Sue from Among the Pines in Baxter gave me a copy of one of her shawl designs when we were at the retreat last fall. Lindsey made the Mocha Cozy Wrap with Burly Spun and now Tina, Angel and Lindsey are now making several wraps from the new super chunky Malabrigo that came in a few weeks ago. Check out the samples below. The wrap only takes two skeins of super chunky. Free pattern with purchase of the yarn to make the wrap.

We had a great time on Sunday at our Knitting on the Go event. The shop is full of samples that take just a couple of skeins of yarn and are portable so you can knit anywhere you go this spring and summer.

In addition to the Mocha Cozy Wrap, the bread basket liner, linen placemats & napkin rings along with the new 3 skein linen shaw from Louet are our hits for the past week.

The Friday night Stitch-In Returns to Amazing Threads in May. I have done an annual stitch-in the weekend of the fishing opener the past 7 years so this should be no exception. Call the shop to register.

I was on Jennifer Lippmans website this week putting together a Know Knits bag order just in time for Mother's Day and noticed that Jennifer publishes one free pattern a month for knitters everywhere. Just visit her website.

I love the scrub a dub & the headband. We are also getting some of her stitch marker necklaces in next week as well.

I am still into today's version (Slouch Hat) of the tams we used to wear. Here is a new pattern available as a free download on Ravelry from an Elisuccia Lib.
