What's New: 5.11.10

I sure am glad I have not packed away my winter sweaters and closed toe shoes. I needed both yesterday and today and suspect I will need them the rest of the week. This weather is perfect if you are a duck.

Mother Nature must have known that some of my winter projects are not complete so she turned off the spring weather for a few days. That's my excuse for sitting and knitting instead of doing yard work or whatever else I am supposed to do outside when spring arrives.

Shop Hop Update: The first skeins of wonderful hand dyed worsted weight Alyeska (cashmere & merino blend) have arrived for us to create our shop model from our original pattern that will be given away during the Shop Hop. It is more than yummy. Each shop has their own color, hand dyed exclusively for that shop. by Pagewood Farms. The hand dyed yarn is new for the shop hop this year.

No begging we cannot unveil our color until next week.

What's Hot at the Shop

Weekend, a new acrylic and cotton blend from Berroco remains one of our hottest selling yarns. At 6.50 per skein for 215 yards it is a great value and you can pick up yarn and a patter for less than $45.00. Check out some of the free patterns Berroco has developed for this yarn, including the Ari & Ria sweaters.

Check out the new Ruffled Sleeved Vest sample that will be a class on the summer schedule. The pattern is found in the Spring Vogue Magazine and knit in Sublime Milky soft, a blend of cotton and milk fiber.

Susan Rainey will be teaching the Swallow Tail Shawl class this summer and the pattern is a free download from Evelyn Clark.

WHAT'S NEW?

The shop will begin filling up again. We received 500+ pounds today from Plymouth and will be working feverishly to get it all tagged and on the shelf in the next couple of days.

Encore, Encore Colorspun, & Encore Tweeds have been restocked and there are new colors.

New colors arrived in Plymouth Worsted Merino Superwash. This yarn has a wonderful twist and elasticity and creates a great fabric when knit. There will be a Chunky Superwash Merino available this fall as well.

Zino, a new sock yarn from Plymouth arrived early but that makes all our sock knitters happy.

Knit Col, that wonderful superwash, self striping baby hat yarn & Baby Bunny are restocked.
