What's New: 8.6.08

It continues to be amazing at the shop. IT'S CHRISTMAS AT THE STORE!

The boxes have been piled in the aisles since late last week and we have been working at a frantic pace to get all the new stock marked and out on the floor. That combined with our continuing mini remodel has kept all of us busy. Thanks to our many customers for their patience as we move and rearrange. So far, all the feedback has been very positive about the the new fixtures and the new look. COME TAKE A PEEK and take some time to touch a few of the new fibers in the shop!

The last of the new fixtures will be in the shop late this week and then Tina and I will move stock to more permanent locations. If you can't find something, just let one of the staff know and we will look for it right along with you because we're not always sure where we moved it either!

Our fantastic web mistress, Kathy, has already put many of the classes for fall on the web for registration. Pictures of projects will be up soon as well. Dawna is busy working on the print version for the shop and the web.

As of today our customers and staff have made and donated 63 blankets to the Cornerstone Project Little Lambs . YEAH! Only 7 more to make our goal of 70 by August 15! THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Knitting Olympics Challenge Update!

There are many of you who have emailed and called the shop with your projects for the Olympic Challenge. It begins on Friday evening at the beginning of the opening ceremonies and ends at the close of the closing ceremony on 8/28/08. Rules can be found on the What's New page for July 9.

As of Tuesday, there were nearly 161,000 members of Ravelry, world wide. If you haven't joined, sign up at www.ravelry.com and register. In 2-3 days you should receive your note to join. If you have signed up and haven't received a confirmation, check your spam filter. The reason there is a waiting period is to regulate the number of people who join at one time. If all 161,000 had joined at once, everybody would be a "newbe" and things wouldn't work as smoothly. Allowing a few at a time means there are already people who can navigate the system. Ravelry is still in the beta or testing period which means there are still some bugs that need to be worked out and new areas being added. The Amazing Threads group has 52 members. If you haven't joined, please do. We'll try to add notes of interest as they come up. Please introduce your self in that thread.
