What's New: 8.12.09

The sidewalk will remain under construction through the end of the week. The workmen have created a temporary entrance that seems to be working. Both the UPS and FedEx guys delivered more than 30 boxes. Read below to check out what we opened and are putting away on the shelves tomorrow.

Both of our delivery gents made comments about the workload for our shop de! liveries is like Christmas. Tina and I both smiled and told them that this is our Christmas. Our knitters need to start knitting now to get all those holiday gifts ready in time for the upcoming gift giving holidays.

Only 135 days until Christmas! It's too early to panic yet. So grab your list, check it twice, and stop in the shop for new patterns, yarn and lots of inspiration.

Just released is a great sock knitting book that details how to knit sock traditionally, on 2 circular needles or using the magic loop method. A steal at $10.95.

What's New?

Berroco has outdone themselves this year with their new yarns and pattern support along with new colors for core yarns. They have also done a great job at keeping prices reasonable. YEAH!

I love the hand and knit on the new Vintage Wool which is a combination of acrylic, wool, and nylon. It looks and feels like Ella Rae Classic and Cascade 220 but has the wear and washability of a superwash wool. Vintage Wool satisfies even the staunchiest wool snob! It has a wide color range, incredibly soft feel, yardage that goes on and on and a fiber blend that makes laundering a breeze, this yarn is an instant staple at $6.50 a skein.

Lustra. This silk-like jewel combines a single ply merino wool and Tencel blend into a lightweight affordable luxury fiber for every level of knitter. It has generous yardage and a silk sheen, a striking palette and soft hand as well as great pattern support.

Blackstone Tweed is a welcome addition to the great array of new tweed yarns this season. Tweed for the discerning knitter!
