Ongoing Events

SSK (Sit, Sip & Knit)

Tuesday mornings from 11 am-1 pm.
Bring your lunch and a favorite project and join your knitting/crochet companions for an hour or two during the day.  $5 fee applied to purchase of $20 or more on the day you attend.

Knit Night

Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm.
Work on a project with friends and/or make new friends, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the company of others who love to knit or crochet!! $5 fee applied to purchase of $20 or more on the night you attend.

K2tog (Knit Together)

Thursday afternoons from 1 PM to 3 PM
Bring your project and join your knitting/crochet companions for an hour or two during the day. There is no charge for Open Knitting.

Current Knit-Along Dates:

March/April Knit Along - Mariposa Tee from Zen Garden

Amazing Threads will be  participating in this Knit Along - It is Going to be Fabulous. Kits must be pre-ordered by March 1, 2013. Come join Michelle Miller of Fickleknitter.com and Roxanne Yeun of Zenyarngarden.com as we bring you a semi-mystery KAL to begin in mid-March, 2013.  Mariposa is a seamless short-sleeved yoke sweater, knit in the round from the bottom up with 2 simple lace panels on either side of the waist shaping.   We will have samples at the store shortly and a form for sign-ups.

Knitting with stitchers who share your passion is so much fun. During the summer of 2012 we started a Monthly Knit-Along where we all knit on the same project and come to the shop twice per month to knit on the Knit-Along project. It has become great fun. Each month we choose a new project that can be completed within the month’s time frame. Customers purchase their yarn at Amazing Threads and are eligible to win a $25 gift card each month if the COMPLETE their project by the last day of the month. Attendance at the Knit-Along is not mandatory but it sure is FUN. Watch the web and the weekly newsletter for updates on projects. Scheduled dates for each months FREE Knit-Along at the shop are as follows and all are from 6-8 pm unless otherwise noted.

Trunk Shows and Special Events

Amazing Threads is pleased to host a Knit Swirl Trunk Show.  Sandra McIver the designer and author of Knit Swirl is sharing 5 of her designs with us. I have ordered yarn to knit my own in Claudia's Handpaints.  I can't wait to get started.  In the meantime, stop in and check out the garments from this FABULOUS book. Order or purchase yarn to make your own Knit Swirl design at 15% OFF.

Finishing made simple.  Sometimes you just can't get to a class at the shop or only need a refresher on a minor topic to get your garment finished.  Carri Hammett, previous owner of Coldwater Collaborative in Excelsior has joined with Annie's Catalog to create a detailed on-line finishing class.  Once you purchase this on-line tutorial - you have access for life.  I love Carri's simple and easy methods to make my garments look hand made not home made.
