Josh is a knitwear designer who wants to update classic American design for both men and women. Influenced by fashion history, flattering fits, contemporary trends and his theater background, Josh designs garments that are beguilingly versatile and enduringly stylish.
Join us for a day with Josh Bennett- February 25- Rowans newest, hip designer from New York. Amazing Threads is pleased to offer you a day with Josh Bennett. Register for one class or both. Register for both classes for $90 and lunch is included in your class fee (KCM-$85)

Have you ever wanted to be ahead of the fashion trends by designing your own knitted garments? Well, now you can, with designer Josh Bennett. Currently designing for CFDA Award winner Michael Bastian and Project Runway winner Irina Shabayeva, Josh has gained exclusive access to all the upcoming trends and fashion forecasts from New York City’s knitwear fashion industry. In this workshop, Josh will teach all the techniques and design elements that will be seen in upcoming seasons and help you translate those trends into individual designs. He’ll also discuss ways to adjust garments so that they hold the integrity and shape of the design while still looking fashion-forward and current.Join us for this 3 hours class. All levels of knitters are welcome. There is NO HOMEWORK. Please BRING: Inspirational tear sheets or favorite garments; one pair of size 7 or 8 needles; 3 balls of contrasting worsted-weight yarn; tape measure; calculator.
Tips & Tricks: Making Garments Look Professional by Josh Bennett 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm $50.00 includes Refreshments (Knit Club Members $45)
In this class you’ll learn to correctly measure gauge, work out pattern math, try different ribbing techniques, get correct measurements for shape and fit, and master other techniques that give a garment a professional look. We will begin by making a gauge swatch and then use it to write a simple sweater pattern that can be used as a guide for future projects.
Join us for this 3 hour class. Skill Level: Intermediate Knitters: Can you knit, purl, increase, decrease and have knit at least a baby sweater but want your designs to look hand made not home made this is the class for you.
Technique: Garment Design, Shaping and Construction, FinishingSupplies Needed: Please bring to class: Sizes 7, 8, and 9 needles; one ball worsted-weight 100% wool; one ball worsted-weight 100% cotton; calculator; tape measure; pictures, sketches or tear sheets of garments, objects, places, colors (anything) that inspire you or an old garment you want to re-create.
