Classes & KALs
Our fall class schedule is in full swing - so many offerings for both knit and crochet!

We welcome Tania Richter, a local designer to our shop.  She will be teaching HER DESIGN, the double knitting in the Simple Plaid Scarf starting Sunday, September 25.
Want to learn crochet or expand your crochet skills?

Sabrina will teach you starting on October 2 with the Crochet Block Sampler Afghan and then on Wednesday, October 4:  Learn to Crochet, Get ready for Christmas & the Zelia Basket are sure to get you HOOKING!
Cahoots Hat & Friendship Road Cowl with designer Cori Eichenberger begins October 9
Cori is a local designer and teacher and I want to give our customers some insights about her so I asked her a few questions about her designs.
What inspired your design?  I'm very fortunate to have friends who are knitters with a capital K.  And I've found knitting as well as friendship, to be an uneven road, like most things in life: full of texture and mistakes, over-sharing and laughter, frogging and tears, travel and shopping, happiness and creation. The simple cross hatch texture of the hat and cowl are super simple but remind me of an uneven road, and "the road" plays a key part in our book concept.  Only a two row repeat, the beauty of this set is that it's customisable.
What Skills will students learn? The Latvian braid technique gives you a lot of bang for your buck.  Only a couple of rows of purl stitches and you've got something that's really striking.  And you can decide if you want one, two or three to decorate your hat and/or cowl.
Corrugated rib is a design element used often in Fair Isle knitting. It's quite easy and adds a great effect in two color contrasting yarns, my new corrugated 2-color cast on makes the edge of your hat or cowl really interesting.  I think most knitters are going to say "How'd you do that?"

Will these designs be in your new book?  My friend, Megan and I are writing a knitting pattern book that will be available sometime in 2017!  Under the Knit Cahoots logo, it will be called Minnesota 52 which is also the highway we take to get back and forth to one another. (She lives in Rochester and I'm in the SW Metro)  Since there are 52 weeks in the year we're designing knitwear for the seasons.  This Cahoots Hat and Cowl pattern will be part of the promotion of the book but you can get it now only at Amazing Threads by taking this class.
