Paloma Sweater
Paloma is a raglan-style sweater knit in the round from the top down, featuring twisted rib at the neck, sleeves, cuffs, and hem. This DK weight sweater can be knit with lace & fingering weight held together or with a single strand of DK.
Pattern available for free on Ravelry. Students should have knit and blocked their gauge swatch prior to class to be ready for the first day!
Yarn: Fingering + Lace weight = DK, or single strand of DK weight yarn
Yardage:
Quantities: 1019 (1125, 1240, 1353) (1427, 1546, 1630, 1744) m / 1114 (1230, 1356, 1480)
(1561, 1691, 1783, 1907) yds of fingering weight yarn AND 864 (955, 1052, 1148) (1211,
1312, 1383, 1479) m / 945 (1044, 1150, 1255) (1324, 1435, 1513, 1617) yds of a mohair
blend laceweight yarn
Please note that the two yarns are held together throughout. Also, while the length of this
sweater is easily customizable, be aware that adding length may affect yardage requirements.
Needles:
Note! Needle size is a suggestion only, you will need to swatch to determine the needle size needed to achieve gauge for you.
16” circular needles: 4 mm (US 6) – or one size smaller than gauge needle.
For rest of sweater (including body, cuffs, and hem):
16”, 24”, and 32” circular needles: 4.5 mm (US 7) – or size needed to obtain gauge
Other Notions:
Stitch markers, stitch holders (or scrap yarn), tapestry needle
Gauge: 21 sts and 28 rnds = 10 cm / 4” after blocking with main gauge needles
