The Muppet Shawl MKAL Class

Join Derek to knit the MKAL that's most Sensational, Inspirational, Celebrational, and muppetational! Pattern available on Ravelry with 25% discount through February 29th. This is a Mystery Knit Along (MKAL), see below for details on how pattern clues will be released.  This MKAL class includes instruction.

Note from Derek: I did the "As You Wish" MKAL in 2022 and enjoyed it immensely. The clues are filled with jokes and references and reading through the pattern was almost as much fun as knitting the shawl itself! I can't wait to journey through this MKAL with you all :)

How Does This Work?

  • It’s a knitting pattern for a generous shawl/wrap/scarf-thingy
  • Those purchasing the pattern during the pre-sale period (see below) will receive a planning sheet with gauge and materials info.
  • There will be 5 clues for the mkal. Clue 1 drops on March 1st (first thing in the am EDT), with clues 2-5 releasing on March 8th, March 15th, March 22nd, and March 29th. (yes, we’re “marching” into muppets. Or muppeting our way through March…)
  • As each clue is published, you will receive an update with that Clue (via Ravelry download).
  • The yardage listed includes wiggle room. Even small differences in gauge can result in using more or less yarn than listed, and since it’s pretty awful to run out of yarn, I work to ensure that everyone can finish without having to play yarn chicken.

This shawl is knit using fingering weight yarn. The pattern as written is intended to have 800 yards for a main color (MC) and 133 yards each of 6 contrasting colors (CC1-CC6). If you wish, you can instead substitute one 400 yard skein of fingering weight yarn for three of the contrasting colors resulting in a total two contrasting colors (CC1 & CC2).

SIZE: One size, in the final shape of a rectangle. The exact dimensions are a mystery, but the size will be generous enough to wrap around Miss Piggy, Kermie, and Gonzo put together.

YARN REQUIREMENTS:
Please note these are yarn estimates. The amount used will depend on yarn, your personal gauge, and any modifications you make.
