First Time Socks - Magic Loop Technique



Join us for a beginner sock class that will also be great for learning and practicing magic loop!  This pattern is available as a free Ravelry download

This is a very basic top-down sock pattern whose intent is to guide a first-time or newbie sock maker through the process without a lot of stress.  This pattern uses the Magic Loop technique for its construction of a basic, top-down sock. We will be using Sport weight yarn for this class.

Pattern includes video tutorials of German Twisted Cast-On, the Kitchener Stitch and the Magic Loop technique

YARN REQUIREMENTS: 
Please note these are yarn estimates. The amount used will depend on yarn, your personal gauge, and any modifications you make.

400+ yds of sport weight yarn
Suggested Yarn: KFI Indulgence Merino or sport weight yarn with some nylon for durability.


SUGGESTED NEEDLES: Needles listed are suggested. Always take time to swatch.
US 3 (3.25mm) 40" circular needle for magic loop method.

TOOLS: stitch markers, darning needle for weaving ends.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Class is suitable for confident beginners to intermediate level knitters. Students should be confident in knits, purls, and decreases. Class will teach the German Twisted Cast-On, the Kitchener Stitch and the Magic Loop technique.
