Only Yarn in the Building Shawl
Get ready to solve a mystery with this shawl inspired by the Hulu show Only Murders in the Building. Journey with Derek through a shawl that is filled with twists, turns, and intriguing stitch patterns. This large rectangular shawl makes extensive use of mosaic colorwork to create fun and interesting designs throughout. Short rows are also used to create a "city skyline" that travels across the length of the shawl. Note: Students should have experience working with mosaic knitting for this class.

Four colors approximately 400 yards each
- The shawl will include (non-stranded ) colorwork, but not all the colors need to contrast with all the others. Instead, only ONE of the colors, the CC, needs to contrast with the rest.
- “CC” is the Contrasting Colorway
- CC needs to contrast with C1, C2, and C3 since it will be used in colorwork with each of these 3 colors individually.
- C1, C2, and C3 don’t have to have much contrast with each other—they much only contrast individually with the CC.

US 5 (3.75mm) circular, 24 inches. Two sets of circulars needed for joining the shawl

24 stitches and 46 rows in 4" of garter stitch
TOOLS
Tapestry needle, waste yarn or barber cords for holding live stitches, waste yarn for provisional cast on, size F crochet hook or second circular needle for provisional cast on
