Amazing Threads WE ARE FULL of YARN & Shibui MAAI Launches
We are still experiencing GROWING PAINS on the website so there may be some hiccups. It seems we get all of our lovely photos in and then there is a technical issue and we fix that part and the photos "GO AWAY." I LOVE TECHNOLOGY but only when it works. I am sure I am not alone. Each week's update contains links to yarn, book, patterns and more on our website. If you see the name underscored it is a LINK to the product on our site. So click on through and see what all the excitement is about. We love color and texture and know you do TOO. TO VISIT THE WEBSITE: Click on our LOGO above.
When the UPS man dropped the big box of Shibui Maai today..the staff did not even utter "Too MUCH YARN." WE all DOVE into the box of Maai, Shibui's newest yarn.
Maai is an entirely luxurious blend of 70% superbaby alpaca and 30% merino in a springy chainette construction. The plush intervals of chain bloom to create light, cushiony knits with incredible softness - perfect for next-to-skin garments and accessories. Maai’s elegant fibers, smart construction and remarkable bloom lend this DK weight yarn to a range of needle sizes. Create defined stitches with a soft hand, lush cables, and sumptuous stockinette. Thanks to Shibui we already have M1 KNIT. The ultimate fall scarf. Soft, comfortable, and warm -- without the bulk. Designed by Shellie Anderson, M.1 features Maai with subtle details. Length-wise slipped stitches and I-cord edging create visual interest and give the entire piece a lofty, modern structure. The pattern is free with purchase of Maai. Stop in and touch. So WONDERFUL.

September Classes
September classes include the Blanket and Hat with Paul Neary. Paul is a guest instructor this September. Paul is the representative for Euro Yarns and is the new American Designer for Lana Gotto. The blanket only takes 4 skeins of Baby Soft Cotton Chunky which makes it a quick knit. The hat is knit in 2 skeins of Miski which is a luxuriously soft yarn of 100% Llama. Both projects are easily finished in the 3 classes which start this Saturday, September 20.
Mystery Knit-Along with Michelle continues Sunday September 21 from 2-4 pm. NOT TOO LATE TO START & the KAL is free - just get your yarn at the shop.
2 New FREE KALs have been added to start in October. Join Deb in the Rowan Kaffe Fassett KAL. Rowan is getting set to launch its second mystery knitalong project on Oct. 1, and this time the designer behind the fun is color master Kaffe Fassett. KAL will meet Wednesdays, October 1, 8, 22 & November 5 & 19 from 6-8 pm
Rowan’s brand manager, Kate Butler, says in a video about the project that the aim was to get more people knitting in “the Kaffe way,” which isn’t difficult knitting, just a lot of color. “The projects involve multicolored squares, and you can choose to make an afghan, a small cushion, an oblong cushion or all three. Four colorways have been selected by Fassett for the project. Each one uses 10 different colors, and you can download the shopping list now (it’s a PDF) if you’re interested in the project. There will be instructional videos available as well.
